The Level 5 certificate in advanced in Skin Blemish Removal is a vocationally related qualification focused on carrying out advanced electrical epilation techniques to treat those skin blemishes such as sebaceous hyperplasia, sebaceous warts, common warts, moles and syringiomas. These types of blemishes along with skin tags are no longer removed by the G.P.
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety pertaining to level 5 non-medical aesthetic therapies. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with and analyse clients whilst providing advanced blemish removal treatments.

The course runs over 12 weeks which includes up to 5 days class time.

The course is to be completed within a 14 weeks’ time frame and is self-paced where it can be modified due to student time constraints. Course work is by way of live class participation of 8 days at 1 day per week, for both theory and practical assessment. There is an aspect of online activity which allows students to study and submit all theory work on-line. Assessment is logged within an online portfolio which is collated and marked by your tutor. Client case studies are also required as part of assessment. Ongoing tutor support is given throughout the duration of the course.
During the course you will be given instruction on the various forms of equipment used for blemish removal using both Short wave diathermy and blend. Areas for blemish removal are on both the face and body.
Blemish removal is regarded as an aesthetic treatment for the safe removal of unwanted blemishes on the skin. It continues to be a viable treatment both in the beauty salon and clinic and is a preferred treatment to other more invasive type treatments. It has proven to be a very useful tool for treating those more difficult areas to reach and particular Fitzpatrick types which could otherwise not have laser and IPL.
Our tutors have a high level of experience within the Beauty field both in education and industry and will teach you to the same standards as found in higher education. This coupled with your input will allow you to progress to a level expected for certification.

Entry Requirements

Level 4 Award in Blemish removal

Students should be 18 years and over

Student should have a satisfactory level of education

Learners who wish to undertake this qualification must also achieve the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Beauty Therapy and Nail Services qualification or a regulated equivalent .
