The VTCT level 4 Dermaplaning award is an advanced qualification aimed at those with a level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification.

Dermaplaning is a form of deep exfoliation of the skin which helps slough off dead skin cells  which lie on the epidermal layer of the skin, using a surgical blade.  There are various skin treatments found within the salon for skin exfoliation, however this treatment has the added ability to take off the ‘peach fuzz’ which some find undesirable. Dermaplaning allows the penetration of skin products . The skin is left silky smooth and may help to resolve skin issues such as hyperpigmentation and acne scarring.

COURSE INFORMATION

Entrance requirements – 18 years of age and SVQ Level 3 Beauty Certificate or equivalent, knowledge of the skin

Content - Case studies, Practical exam, Theory exam

Duration - 2 practical days, 10am - 3pm (students can return for further study)

Exam – is a multiple choice Exam

Assignment - 2 case studies

Qualification - VTCT Award in Dermaplaning Level 4 BT4A11

Duration - 2 days

Entry and progression routes to further education courses – Level 4 in Skin Peeling, Level 4 in Skin Needling, Level 4 Ultrasound

Student requirements – Students to wear suitable comfortable clothing, ie uniform. Long hair to be tied back. Students are required to be prompt to class.
