Chemical peels are an advanced treatment that is beneficial for clients looking to treat forms of photo aging; such as rough skin, pigmentation, uneven skin tone, post acne scarring. Course covers both mild and medium skin peels for those used in both salons and clinics.

There are various types of chemical peels to be found within industry. This 1 day course is a good introduction to the uses, safe application and implication for use. No skin preparation is required for this class as you will be using skin peel type 1s which have little downtime. Facial and skin care will be discussed and safe methods of application using Glycolic type 1 and Lactic Acid, with their uses discussed. Health and safety, contraindication to treatment and contra actions form an important aspect of this course.

Chemical peels are beneficial for correcting problematic skin conditions as well as brightening the skin for that glow that we all desire.

You will be required to have prior knowledge in skin care as this course incorporates a medical skin care range both in skin care and skin peels. You will be guided through the correct method of application for safe delivery of the chemical peel and those other active ingredients that we use. You will get to try and test out a well-known brand and given the opportunity to try out milder forms of peel which are safe for all skin types.

For those wishing to further their knowledge and try out stronger peels you will have to enrol onto our VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Skin Peel course. Here you will test and try out both the mild and those higher percentages of peel which require skin prep. On the VTCT course you will receive a skin care kit also.

This course will give you credit for prior learning towards our VTCT level 4 Skin Peel course.

Exam – is by observation and Quiz

Assignment - 2 case studies

CPD - 16 hours

Student requirements – Students to wear suitable comfortable clothing, ie uniform. Long hair to be tied back. Students are required to be prompt to class.
