The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Stone Therapy Massage is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a Stone Therapy Massage specialist. This qualification is designed for learners aged 16 years or over and will support you to gain employment as a Stone Therapy Massage specialist, as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role. Entry to this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 2 qualification in Beauty or Complementary therapy and/or a successful skills test and interview.
Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care and massage products. You will also develop a range of technical skills enabling you to prepare the body, use a stone heater and place stones and provide relaxing massage treatments using basalt stones and a variety of techniques.
The course runs over 7 weeks duration which includes 4 class days and can be modified due to student time constraints. Course work is via live class participation for both theory and practical assessment. There is an aspect of online activity which allows students to study and participate at their own pace. All assessment is logged within a portfolio which is collated and marked by your tutor. Ongoing tutor support is given throughout.
This is a very informative and enjoyable class for those looking to adopt skills for alternative practice and as an additional skill used as a complimentary therapy. Stone Therapy is used by both beauty therapists and therapeutic massage therapists as an additional tool for lymphatic drainage and a way of softening and relaxing muscle and tissue.
Our tutors have a high level of experience within the Complimentary and Holistic fields, both in education and industry and will teach you to the same standards as found in higher education. This coupled with your input will allow you to progress to a level expected for certification.

How you will be assessed?
Theory assessment is through ongoing assignments some of which is done as online student portal. Practical observation takes place at the school, however part of ongoing practical will be completed as distance learning. All evidence is collated by way of a student portfolio which your tutor has access too. Ongoing support will be given throughout the duration of the course. This course is also suitable for both live class and distance learners. For those learners who do not have access to computers can submit by paper form. Please enquire for details.
