The VTCT Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Aesthetic procedures for skin rejuvenation has been devised to enable those who wish to eventually enter advanced beauty treatments. Students who have qualified with level 4 modalities and/or who are beauty professionals holding other advanced skin treatments may wish to advance to this course as it will act as a gateway to level 5 & 6 courses..
Because of the flexible nature of the qualification, this qualification is most suitable for anyone wishing to individually tailor the curriculum content that best suits their personal professional development needs. This unique qualification is most suitable for anyone wishing to gain a level 4 qualification in a wide range of advanced aesthetic therapies. Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant principles and practices and advanced and safe skin care protocols for a bespoke selection of aesthetic practices. Learners will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to consult with clients, and provide specific aftercare and home care advice.
Entry onto this qualification is level 3 access to Advanced aesthetic therapies or level 3 Beauty therapy; HNC;HND BT

The course runs over 4 to 6 class days.

This qualification consists of 6 units at level 4 and will provide the learner with the required underpinning knowledge to afford direct progression onto specific modality training at level 5.
This course encompass the standards outlined by professional and regulatory bodies. This qualification also integrates the professional and regulatory bodies guidelines for skin rejuvenation procedures, emphasising professionalism and health and safety.
You will complete the following units
Learners must achieve the mandatory theory units:

Principles, practice and ethics of advanced aesthetic therapies

Investigative consultation for advanced aesthetic therapies

Skin science for advanced aesthetic therapies
Learners are then required to select 3 optional units from the identified list:
3 of the following must be chosen. which will include theory & practical.
However more than 3 can be taken.

Core of Knowledge for Laser and Light Devices (compulsory if taking IPl/laser

Provide radio frequency treatments

Provide cosmetic skin needling treatments

Provide skin peeling treatment.

Perform hair growth reduction using Intense Pulsed Light systems

Perform skin rejuvenation using Intense Pulsed Light systems

Perform skin rejuvenation using LASER systems
How you will be assessed?
All evidence is collated by way of a student portfolio which your tutor has access too. Ongoing support will be given throughout the duration of the course. This course involves both live class and home theory learning. Student theory notes, PowerPoint will be accessed online. Case studies will be completed before external assessments. You will be required to pass all mandatory units.
