This 2 day course forms one of the main qualifications within Beauty Therapy. Enrolling onto this programme will equip you with a sound knowledge and understanding of carrying out hand and foot treatments. The class includes correct procedure for filing, exfoliating, massage, moisturising and nail paint. Covered also are the anatomy and physiology of the hand and foot, including contraindications that can be found on the nail and surrounding skin.

You may choose to follow the path of enrolling both onto Manicure and Pedicure together as they go hand in hand for many clients. Specifically important to those clients when looking for that extra personal preparation for holidays and special events or even for those pregnant ladies before giving birth.

The care of your hands and feet can be time consuming and it is always a nice treat for clients therefore being able to carry out both is a great addition to your beauty skills. Here you will be observed in the correct procedures for carrying out both hand and foot treatments in preparation for nail colour. The procedure for correct filing, cuticle care, exfoliation and moisturisation will be discussed. All aspects of sanitation, sterilisation and disinfection are an important factor and you will be guided as to which methods are suited. Discussed also are those other additions that can be manufactured into your treatments.

 

This course forms a great basis to go on and enroll on other skin and nail care courses. You may wish to enrol onto our ESA Gel Nails course for natural nails. Or the VTCT Level 2 Diploma for Beauty Therapists, which gives you further access to our level 3 courses.

Any ESA course undertaken will be given credit for prior learning to our VTCT course.

Exam – is by observation only

Certification – You will be awarded the Erasure Skin Academy Diploma in Manicure & Pedicure

CPD points – Manicure  22 points; Pedicure 22 points

 

Entry and progression routes to further education courses – Other ESA courses, VTCT/NVQ level 2/3 beauty courses.

 

Student requirements – Students to wear suitable comfortable clothing. Long hair to be tied back. Students are required to be prompt to class.
